Education and Experience
I received my Bachelor's degree in psychology and my Master's degree in counseling from California State University, Northridge.
I began my internship at Center for Discovery and Adolescent Change as a counselor in the residential treatment program. In this role, I was able to help adolescent girls who suffered from substance abuse and mood disorders through facilitation of group therapy. I later completed my internship at The Bella Vita eating disorder treatment center working as a primary therapist in their residential treatment program. In this position, I worked with both the adolescent and adult populations to provide individual and family psychotherapy for patients struggling with eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorders.
Since 2013, I have been working in Pasadena, CA in private practice. In the outpatient setting, I have continued to treat adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, mood disorders, relationship problems, and life transitions. In 2020, I started the process of specializing in couples work. I have, to date, completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) including a 4 day externship and am in the process of completing an additional year long training focused on developing advanced skills in EFT (estimated completion date Aug 1, 2021).
